Climate Change and Food Security Challenge Badge
Climate change is a global problem but many of its causes are due to individual lifestyle choices. The Climate Change and Food Security Challenge Badge helps raise awareness of how our everyday activities contribute to climate change and how different communities and individuals are already being affected by it, especially in regards to access to water and food.
The badge curriculum contains activities for children and youth from 5 to 20 years of age and is divided into three categories: Our Climate, Our Food and Our World. Each category contains a selection of activities and projects children and youth can carry out to learn more about weather and climate and food and consumer choices. By carrying out these activities young people will be encouraged to take action against global warming, environmental degradation and hunger in the world.
On the completion of the badge youths can be awarded a certificate and cloth badge (which can be placed sown on Guide and Scout uniforms).
What are you waiting for? -> take the challenge :o)
